Megan Lange is a Nashville-based bandleader and dance instructor. Although she began dancing at the age of five, she didn’t find swing dancing until January of 2015, when she was held up at gunpoint, quit her day job, and found her way to the Knoxville Swing Dance Association’s weekly dance. Since then, Megan has traveled to countless events to learn from top-level instructors as well as starting a swing band (Megan and her Goody Goodies), which she takes to dance events across the Southeast.
Currently, Megan spends her time managing an event venue, doing freelance marketing, teaching tap to ten-year olds, leading her band, and heading up Sumner County Swing Dance. When she’s not running an event or playing a gig, you can find her at home with her husband Nick and her two cats, Olive and Asparagus.
Taylor Schaffers & Melanie Farmer
Taylor Schaffers has been actively dancing and volunteering since 2012. She has worked her way through everything from local weekly dances to International events as a means to dance more, make friends, and give back to the events that keep her hyped.
Taylor will be handling a good deal of the front-end volunteer coordinator duties, including scheduling, emails, and more. She’s super excited to be a part of the Rhythm is our Business team for the second year in a row, and even more excited to get YOU involved. (However, above all else she might be most excited to spend more time with Megan’s cat, Olive.)
Melanie Farmer started dancing in 2015 and once she started, she literally didn’t stop, taking every lesson she could and absorbing as much info as possible from her teachers and peers. Recently, life has caused her to settle down and focus on school, but Melanie remains extremely passionate about dancing!
Melanie is going to school for Business Hospitality Management and loves being involved in any event she can - she thrives in the environment of working an event where everyone is thoroughly enjoying themselves! She loves to chat with anyone and is always up for helping wherever needed! Melanie will be handling a great deal of the weekend-of volunteer coordination, so make sure to grab her for a dance if you see her!
